This is Holland

Well of course there is more to it than windmills, but they are one of my favorite things

These particular ones have been around & operating since the early 1700’s. Yes, people really do live in {some} of them.

This area is called Kinderdijk {roughly: child’s dike}. The story is that centuries ago during a flood, a cradle with a child was kept balancing on waves in the water by a cat; eventually stranded {& presumably survived} on the slope of a dike. The spot where this happened was named Kinderdijk.

We are having a lovely time with my parents!

Last night I went out with a few friends for a drink which was nice. Getting caught on my bike in torrential rains on the way home was not. Well, the Duvel made it a bit less painful ;)
