{morning paper on the train: ‘Time for a better history’}

I watched the ceremony & speech with a group of other folks last night- not all American – & it was surreal. I can’t believe the relief I feel now that those people are gone. How wonderful it is to be optimistic; to feel like there is a real chance Obama will do his best.

I read in an article today the following:
Black children will now look at themselves differently & white children will look differently at black children‘.

And he’s starting off well:

‘In one of his first acts he suspended prosecutions of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay for 120 days‘.

It’s not all going to be a bed of roses, but it’s a marker in US history for sure {!}
